This is Fallkniven's first knife designed exclusively for hunting. It is based on the traditional Swedish hunting knife, with centuries of use by Scandinavian hunters supporting the traditional design upon which this knife is built. For this reason, the H1 lacks features like a finger guard, which is unusual in Scandinavian-made knives. Instead, Fallkniven has included an ergonomic Thermorun handle with a specially rough texture that provides grip and safety during use. This knife has been designed for experienced hunters who need the performance of a knife like this, while also being able to handle it safely and effectively. For this reason, it is only supplied with a Zytel sheath. The hygiene and lightness provided by this type of sheath offer a great advantage for intensive use.

The blade of the H1 is made from VG10 steel. This industrial-grade steel has been used by Fallkniven for many years. As proven in the Mechanical Laboratories of the “Lulea University of Technology,” this is one of the most resistant steels available today. But it is the balance between hardness, quality, and edge retention that is most appreciated by hunters. Since October 2006, this knife has also been offered in the famous 3G steel. A laminated powder steel, considered to be the best steel in the world.
