The design of this beautiful hunting knife follows the basic principles of Swedish minimalism: that the design should be simple, neat, and functional. To this minimalist foundation, Fällkniven adds its laminated cobalt steel, known for its ability to provide and maintain an excellent edge. If you are tired of other knives losing their sharpness immediately upon sensing the presence of a deer or a wild boar, the SK2 Embla is the knife you need.
Of course, the edge is convex, providing even better cutting quality and greater durability. For the handle material, Desert Ironwood has been chosen. This is an extremely hard and compact wood, so dense that it does not float in water. It can be treated with any type of furniture wax, gun oil, or other liquids containing thinners and linseed oil.
In the ancient folklore of AESIR, the gods Odin, Höner (Vile), and Lodur (Ve) created the first humans from two tree trunks they found on the shore. The first tree trunk was an ash and was therefore called Ask, while the other was an elm and was called Embla, meaning Little Elm. Odin gave them life, Höner granted them understanding and agility, and Lodur provided them with emotions and consciousness. They made their home in Midgård, the Norse name for Earth. The name Embla is very ancient and can first be traced back to the times of the Swedish Vikings around 700 to 1100 AD. Viking women were equal to their men and followed them on their journeys. Vikings were feared for their combat prowess but respected law and order, offering protection to the women of their communities and maintaining order in their parliament. To this day, around 1,500 Swedish women bear the name Embla. The name is mentioned in the Edda, a collection of mythological and heroic poems over a thousand years old.
If you want a closed leather sheath for this knife, we recommend the one for the F1el, which also fits the A1pro.
